The Riverside Convention Center is dedicated to making a positive difference in our community through every action we take, including our impact on the environment. We are always seeking new ways to improve our practices and enhance our role as responsible stewards of the planet.
We are committed to:
Complying and keeping up to date with environmental legislation
Preventing pollution, toxic reduction and resource conservation
Continually working to reduce our environmental impacts – minimizing waste produced, minimizing our energy use, training staff and encouraging greener transportation options.
Specific Areas we are working to reduce our environmental footprint:
Our Team:

Working with our staff and building our team members to make all of the building’s operations as environmentally friendly as we can
Work with companies that follow Best Environmental Practices

Looking at what we buy – sourcing goods with low environmental impact and working with local suppliers wherever possible
Use of our herb and citrus garden
Work with Riverside Public Utilities to utilize its conservation programs
Sysco Riverside opened the first electric vehicle hub of its kind in the world. This hub is a major milestone in the company's commitment to sustainability, featuring a large-scale deployment of electric tractors and refrigerated trailers. The hub is a result of years of collaboration with partners and government officials, and it represents a significant investment in the future of transportation.
Rather than sending food waste to landfills, our local disposal company helps us manage our food waste through source reduction, food rescue programs, composting and anaerobic digestion.
Trash, Recycle and Food Waste receptacles located throughout the facility
Limit office printing
Low Food Waste - when possible, food is donated to local organizations with the CAREIT program
Designated Storage Area for spent batteries so they can be properly disposed of
Give used cooking oils for use as alternative fuel
