This guide has everything you need to plan the perfect summer escape to Lake Perris and other hidden oases in Riverside County. Ready to dive in?

Water Adventures at Lake Perris: Boating, Fishing & More

Lake Perris is a gorgeous spot for boating, and with boats available for rent, you can enjoy the lake from its most spectacular vantage point—out on the water!

If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, rent a jet ski and experience the thrill of speed and power across the lake’s calm waters. The lake is also great for water skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. There are even companies that offer water sports lessons, so you can learn how to do these activities safely under the watchful eye of seasoned pros.

For those who prefer a more leisurely experience, Lake Perris is also a famed fishing spot. Renowned for its abundant population of largemouth bass, spotted bass, and rainbow trout, the lake is truly an angler's paradise.

But Lake Perris isn't just about tranquility - it also hosts two vibrant annual festivals that draw music lovers from far and wide. Same Same But Different creates an immersive experience with electronic music and art installations.

Pro Tip: If you’re a boat owner, remember you’ll need to pass a vessel inspection before entering the water. Also, remember that starting January 1, 2025, California law requires a California Boating Card to operate a vessel on all waterways, so plan accordingly.

Back on Dry Land: Beaches, Picnics & Camping

Lake Perris offers a perfect outdoor escape for visitors, whether you want to enjoy a lakeside picnic, a refreshing swim, or an overnight camping adventure. You’ll find plenty of picnic areas near Moreno and Perris beaches.

If you want to extend your stay, Lake Perris boasts three campgrounds spanning 224 campsites. These campgrounds are open year-round, allowing you to experience the beauty of the lake in any season. However, reservations are highly recommended, especially during peak periods.

Pro Tip: Planning a group event? You can reserve picnic areas at Lake Perris beforehand, perfect for gatherings of up to 75 people.

Note: Swimming is not allowed in Group Day Use areas.
